Highway Queens is a music blog about women in Americana, indie, folk, country and beyond. I share album reviews, live reviews, book reviews and general music-related opinion pieces. Also expect occasional in-depth features on classic albums, including my discography projects about the solo work of Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris. 

And boys, please don’t cry that we’ve left you out, you can still listen and read but the truth is highway queens don’t need no king. 

 

 

AI Transparency Statement

I have never used artificial intelligence to suggest, write, edit or improve any of my posts. I do not intend to use AI for these purposes in the future.

I have only used AI to research the following post: ‘AI and the Future of Music Blogging.’ When I used ChatGPT as research for that post it gave some advice about social media including starting a Substack newsletter. It also suggested I add more ‘Pages’ and links within my blog to help make my readers navigate the site better. I am trying these ideas this year. I will update as to effectiveness of this advice and whether I intend to continue to use AI to assist in this way going forward later in 2026. I do not intend to use AI to research any other posts, except where unavoidable in a Google search.

You can rest assured that this blog is solely written by one human, for humans. All mistakes and bad writing are my own.
